experiences

wvdot eNG. Co-op

In my 2021 summer engineering internship at WVDOT, I conducted inspections at construction sites, calculated material quantities, and contributed to data analysis. Notably, I witnessed the successful completion of the WV 14 project, reflecting the impact of our collective efforts on infrastructure development.

SMART AG

During the summer of 2022, I worked on the SMART AG Project, focusing on data collection using a UGV on a WVU farm and a high tunnel. The goal was to train a YOLOv5 computer vision model to detect various plants and generate a 3D LIDAR map of the farm. We faced challenges in fine-tuning the YOLOv5 model and integrating the UGV seamlessly. Despite these hurdles, we successfully obtained a rich dataset and a detailed 3D map. The project showcased the potential of combining advanced tech like computer vision and LIDAR for more efficient and precise agriculture practices.

West Virginia University Robotics Outreach Specialist

As a Robotics Outreach Specialist Student Worker at Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering, I actively coordinated engaging STEM events, managed communications, and drove K12 Robotics/STEM projects. I held tables for recruitment at a variety of robotic competitions. I leveraged my team-oriented and detail-focused approach to contribute to advancing STEM education initiatives at WVU.

Thermo fisher sCIENTIFIC (Marietta Oh) - eNG. iNTERN

In the summer of 2023, I interned with Thermo Fisher Scientific at the Marietta Ohio plant, gaining valuable engineering experience. My projects involved testing circuit boards, revising designs to minimize material waste and production time, and collaborating with the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) team to optimize the production line. I also took a hands-on role in designing, developing, and constructing sheet-metal prototypes for the upcoming products of the LSPG Group at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
